Soprano, Allison
Sanders is a versatile performer who has performed a
variety of genres including classical, jazz, musical theatre and popular. Ms.
Sanders has performed the operatic roles of Lauretta in Puccini's Gianni
Schicchi and Mother in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors. In
addition, she has performed jazz in venues such as the Reno Hilton.
Ms. Sanders co-composed an original work with soprano, Michaela
Johnson and performed it for Rick Wamer’s MYTHOS performance, which featured
mime, film, trapeze, circus silks, stilt walkers, and walking globes.
Collaborating with pianist Aryo Wicaksono, Ms. Sanders co-composed three
original pieces for Jaguar Luna, a multi-arts play that has been recently
previewed in Columbus OH, Washington DC, and New York City.
Ms. Sanders holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Western
Oregon University and was named their Outstanding Vocalist. She also trained
with Professor Faye Robinson at the University of Arizona and received a Master
of Music degree in Vocal Performance. In May 2007, she was the featured
performer at the University of Arizona's commencement ceremonies. Ms. Sanders
has won a number of awards from the National Association of Teachers of Singing,
as well as being chosen to participate in Ann Baltz's 4-week program of
OperaWorks.
Along with performing and composing, Ms. Sanders enjoys teaching
private voice lessons. She currently resides in Orange County with her husband
Morani.
